Marlo Turner Ritchie, Founder and Principal Consultant

Marlo Turner Ritchie

Marlo has twenty years of experience in bilingual management and governance in the non-profit sector, working with diverse teams to deliver programs related to health and social services, housing, legal services and more. As the former Executive Director of Head & Hands (2004-2011), a youth organization based in NDG, Marlo understands the challenges and opportunities that come with leadership in the face of pressing community needs.

The experience she has cultivated as a board member of COCo (Centre for Community Organizations) and through the Executive "Leadership Rassembleur" training program (Centraide du Grand Montreal) has given her invaluable tools and knowledge to build her clients∙e∙s organizational capacity. Marlo is part of a team that created and taught a new certificate program for NPO leadership at John Abbott College.

Marlo leads engagements in strategic planning, leadership coaching, governance, fundraising, diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as the design and facilitation of collective processes. When she is not consulting with non-profits, cooperatives, foundations, coalitions and public sector teams, she volunteers with community-based social justice organizations including the Réseau des Ruches d'Art and the Unitarian Church of Montreal.

Marlo founded Social Impact Consulting / Conseil Impact Social in 2015 and has worked with over 150 organizations on a range of projects since then. She enjoys spending time in nature, gardening, and exploring the city and participating in community events with her partner and son.

Adri Lukács, Principal Consultant

Adri has been working with various arts, human rights, feminist and cultural organizations as a programmer, curator, facilitator, producer, and event organizer for over 15 years. Adri is a firm believer that community arts & culture can create a dialogue, have a transformative, healing power, and can open us up to different perspectives. Before moving to Tio'tia:ke/Montréal in 2014, she worked in The Netherlands, England, and her country of origin, Hungary. As the former Co-Director of NDG Arts Week and Interim Director at Women Aware, she broadened her expertise in solidifying organizations, developing fundraising strategies, building networks and partnerships, and serving marginalized communities according to their needs. She loves body moving, camping, and making earrings. You won’t catch her without her headset/music, and she’s been a vegetarian for 30 years.


Chloe Hart, Junior Consultant

Chloe Hart is a dance artist and community worker based in Montreal, Quebec. A graduate of the Communications Studies program and the Loyola College of Diversity and Sustainability at Concordia University, Chloe is passionate about gender, racial and environmental justice.

As she developed her career in the community sector, Chloe quickly identified two skills that she had gained as an independent artist that were applicable to her new line of work: fundraising and communications. Chloe focussed on these specialities in her work with various Montreal-based nonprofits in the community and live arts sectors, such as Radical Resthomes, Petrikor Danse, Migrations Dance Film Project and Nous Sommes l'Été. She notably worked on a capital campaign for Afrique au Féminin, an organization that works with newcomer women in Parc-Extension, to cover the cost of major renovations to create a new home for the women’s centre. As a junior consultant at Social Impact Consulting, Chloe looks forward to expanding her skill set and working with inspiring organizations with diverse missions.

Chris Lau, Consultant

Chris has been involved in the non-profit community sector, mainly around HIV-AIDS and sexual health education and support, for 25 years. He has a D.E.C. as an architectural technician and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. He has been involved with AIDS Community Care Montreal, Camp Positive, AIDS Committee of Toronto, REZO, the Centre for Community Organizations (COCo) and has been the Executive Director at Maison Plein Coeur since 2016. More recently, he returned to school at Dawson College to develop his interest for photography and videography. He is particularly passionate for social, documentary, portrait, event and architectural photography.

Sheena Swirlz, Administration Coordinator

Sheena Swirlz has created many community resources since moving to the region in 2008. From city guides for Montreal`s community organizations and events, to creating a newsletter of all the ecological events each week in Montreal to workshops instructing locals on connecting with the food system and D.I.Y. culture.

Sheena brings her enthusiasm for collecting useful data and connecting it to those who need it to our team. Sheena has experience with optimizing processes and media impact in various non-profit organizations, cooperatives, grassroots projects and community organizing in Quebec and beyond.

Sheena enjoys spending time creating art installations, organizing ecological events and teaching others urban homesteading skills.

Robert Menzies, Financial Coordinator

Robert has been managing the finances for Social Impact Consulting almost since its inception, and is extremely proud to have contributed to its growth and development over the years. In addition to bookkeeping, he is a teacher, working primarily with adults with special needs and with incarcerated men. In his spare time, he writes fiction and designs board games, and he holds a Bachelor's of arts and a Bachelor's of education. Robert is Marlo's partner and confidant, and they share the joys and burdens of running a business and household and raising a child together.

    Consultant

    Maureen has been involved in Montreal’s non-profit sector for almost 6 years, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation in Belfast, NI. Her previous non-profit experience includes time as a researcher and facilitator at non profit ENSEMBLE pour le respect de la diversité, a mental health and racial profiling project coordinator at Head & Hands, and as a board member at Press Start Youth Co-op. She is passionate about youth work, facilitation and community organizing, and looks forward to using her skillset to serve Montreal's vibrant non profit community. Maureen enjoys concerts, travelling, and hiking in her spare time.

  • Sophie Lacombe

    Consultant, Executive director coaching

    As a graduate in philanthropic management from Université de Montréal, Sophie was selected for the Conseil des arts de Montréal’s paid internship program in cultural philanthropy in 2020. She worked for an Indigenous arts organization until 2022, where she played a pivotal role in consolidating the organization and developing sound philanthropic practices. Today, she is a senior consultant in the non-profit and cultural sectors. She specializes in charitable status acquisition, growing the philanthropic culture, operational optimization and good governance recommendations.

  • Eddie Jude Hareven

    Mediation and Facilitation

    Eddie is a facilitator, mediator, consultant, and coach whose skill set lies in conflict prevention, management and resolution through communication strengthening, preventative and verbal approaches. Eddie supports community organizations and nonprofits in working through conflict, fostering self awareness, developing healthier communication practices, and encouraging growth and empowerment through accessible, participatory, and non-judgemental engagement. Eddie has supported hundreds of Montreal’s community and frontline workers via policy and protocol development, mediation, coaching, and training.

  • Brooke Nancekivell

    ASL Interpreter

    Brooke is an American Sign Language - English interpreter who is passionate about facilitating communication access between Deaf and hearing communities in Tio'tia:ke / Montréal. Brooke holds an Honours Arts degree from McGill University ('14) and diploma from the Program of Sign Language Interpretation from Douglas College ('17) and brings experience interpreting in health care, administration, higher education, conference, non-profit, performing arts, and community settings. In addition to on-site and remote interpreting, Brooke enjoys working with community organizations who are exploring Deaf accessibility and interpretation for the first time and supporting them in creating more accessible events and programs from promotion to rollout to debrief.

  • Dana Vocisano

    Consultant

    Dana Vocisano is an organizational development and evaluation consultant who works with community, non-profit and charitable organizations to scale their impact through program and project evaluation, and organizational learning initiatives. Trained as a process consultant, she is deliberate in how she works with others and uses creative, engaging and collaborative approaches and tools. With 30 years of experience in non-profit, community and philanthropic sectors, she has accompanied hundreds of organizations and social innovators across Canada develop strategy, build capacity and scale impact. Dana participated in Michael Quinn Patton’s first Developmental Evaluation training and has a Masters degree in Human Systems Intervention from Concordia University.

  • Rev. Sarina Odden Meyer

    Conflict Resolution / Mediation

    Sarina’s experience with conflict resolution extends from conflicts between individuals to conflicts between groups within an institution. She has a track record of diffusing tense situations and helping people figure out how to move forward together. Her strategy focuses on finding common ground, building trust, and addressing misunderstandings directly. She is well-versed in the challenges of conflict resolution surrounding issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion with experience in racial reconciliation, 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, ecumenism and interreligious dialogue, gender equity and power dynamics in the workplace. Whenever possible, she employs a preventative approach, addressing the root causes of conflict. Sarina is currently the pastor at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Beaconsfield, QC. She has worked in church leadership and non-profits in the United States and Canada for over 20 years.

    Strategic Communications, Partnerships & Event Production

    Kat Coric (1969, Dubrovnik, Croatia) is a Montreal-based multidisciplinary artist and event producer.

    Since curating her first group exhibition entitled Hope in 1997, Kat Coric has continued to organize over 50 art exhibitions, as well as produce fundraising events for the non- profit sector and the military.

    Coric is also known for being an LGBTQ health advocate.

    Henri-June is fully engaged in raising awareness about trans and LGBTQ+ issues. He specializes in social documentary-style portraits, conventional portraits, event and architectural photography. He produces videos to help communicate non-profit organizational messages for social media or fundraising campaigns. His work is infused with compassion, humanity, authenticity and impact.
