Have a clear hiring process and personnel policies put in place before you start. This will be your guiding light, and will help anyone who is involved in the hiring process.
Make sure that your organization’s mission and values are clear and included in the job call out. You want to attract potential candidates who are inspired by and have experience in line with these values and vision;
Ensure that the job title, responsibilities, experience and salary offered are included in the job posting and are easy to understand;
Offer a fair and competitive compensation package. Check out what average salaries are for the position, and set the salary mark depending on your budget and values;
Get the word out. Do your research and know the best channels to reach the potential candidates. The more people who hear about the opportunity, the better your chances are of reaching the perfect person for the position. Go beyond email and social media, also include LinkedIn and non profit job boards;
Clearly communicate the hiring process in the callout, and in any communication with potential candidates. This will cut down on calls and emails from candidates along the way;
